We're a Mennonite Brethren church in Prince George, BC: children, youth, adults, and seniors gathering on Sundays, meeting in microchurches across the city, and serving God and others here and around the world. Our staff are one part of a much bigger team, equipping all of us to live on mission.

Lead Pastor

Westwood Church · Prince George, BC

Lead the vision, teaching, and shepherding of the Westwood church family.

Position summary

The Lead Pastor is a spiritual leader, vision-caster, and shepherd of the congregation. They provide biblical preaching and teaching, oversee the spiritual health of the church, and lead the pastoral staff to equip the church in a team approach to ministry. The Lead Pastor works closely with the elders to advance the church’s mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ locally and globally.

Primary responsibilities

  • Preaching & teaching (35%): primary preacher; lead and mentor a preaching team; oversee the preaching calendar.
  • Vision & spiritual leadership (20%): champion Westwood’s mission, vision, and values; lead strategic planning with the elders.
  • Leadership development & staff oversight (20%): supervise pastoral and ministry staff; develop emerging leaders.
  • Shepherding & pastoral care (15%): equip elders and leaders in shepherding; provide pastoral and crisis care.
  • Governance & administration (10%): serve as ex officio elder; budgeting, policy, and denominational representation.

Qualifications

  • Meets the biblical qualifications for elders/pastors (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9).
  • Graduate theological training preferred; significant pastoral ministry experience in a multi-staff environment.
  • Strong expository preaching, strategic and organizational leadership, team building.
  • Affirms the authority of Scripture, the MB Confession of Faith, and Westwood’s mission, vision, values, and bylaws; credentialed or eligible with the BCMB Conference.

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary range $75,000–$90,000.
  • Health insurance and retirement benefits; ministry expense allowance.

Worship Pastor

Westwood Church · Prince George, BC

Lead our worship ministry, teams, and Sunday gatherings.

Position summary

The Worship Pastor guides a worship culture that is Christ-centred, Gospel-shaped, fresh and contemporary; oversees weekly worship as Westwood’s overseeing worship leader; identifies, equips and mentors multiple worship leaders and teams; and oversees the sound, lighting, and video teams that support worship ministry.

Primary responsibilities

  • Leadership (35%): develop worship vision and culture; scheduling, training, care and coaching for worship/tech volunteers; AVL resource planning.
  • Worship leading (50%): oversee planning and execution of all Sunday services; lead worship 3 of 5 Sundays; special services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, AGM).
  • Professional development & community engagement (10%).
  • Other duties, administration, and worship budget oversight (5%).

Qualifications

  • Strong vocal and instrumental ability, music theory, and music software competence.
  • 2+ years planning and leading worship and leading worship teams.
  • Pastoral leadership, team building, and collaborative servant leadership.
  • Some post-secondary biblical/theological education preferred.
  • Affirms the authority of Scripture, the MB Confession of Faith, and Westwood’s mission, vision, values, and bylaws; credentialed or eligible with the BCMB Conference.

  • $70,000 annually based on full-time (pro-rated if needed).

Facility Assistant

Westwood Church · Prince George, BC

Help keep our building ready and welcoming through the week.

Position details

  • Permanent part-time, 10 hours per week, with additional hours as needed based on external bookings.
  • Reports to the Director of Ministry Mobilization and Administration.
  • $24.00 per hour, plus paid time off (vacation, sick days, holidays).
  • Open to combining part-time roles into a full-time position for candidates with the right skillset.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Manage external bookings and non-ministry internal bookings.
  • Track inventory and keep the facility stocked with janitorial and kitchen supplies.
  • Recruit, train and support team members to assist in this ministry.
  • Ensure external invoices are sent; resolve technical issues for rentals.
  • Create and maintain process documentation; back up other support staff as needed.

  • Adept at juggling tasks, prioritizing demands, and managing schedules.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
